Don Don started playing guitar in 1977 wanting to be a hot bluegrass picker. He discovered traditional and neo-traditional music when he began playing for contra dances in Texas and later in North Carolina. He plays back up for a mix of Irish, Irish-American, New England, French Canadian, Cape Breton, and Old Time music, and occasionally tries his hand at swing music. Don also plays mandolin and has been known to sing an Irish pub song if sufficiently inspired. In his non-musical life he is an attorney in Raleigh, North Carolina, but we try not to hold that against him.
